Twelve years Army military police, two deployments, then private security contracting. Now I run a small security consultancy in San Antonio, which mostly means people pay me to tell them things they could have read in the enforcement reports if they had the patience.

I have patience.

This beat rewards it. Most of what passes for border analysis is a transcript of somebody's feelings. I'd rather give you the operation name, the timeline, the count, and the policy that made it possible, in that order, and let you decide how to feel about it. You'll find I'm not shy about deciding too. I watched enforcement work when it was actually tried, and I have no patience left for the people who keep insisting it's impossible. Everything America is currently doing at the border was impossible right up until somebody did it.

I track the sanctuary cities with particular attention, because there's nothing quite like watching a city learn in real time that federal law does not care about its feelings.
